It’s Tuesday January 9th & bees are snowed in, We Have the hives wrapped with foam to help keep up their body temps. Hopefully get a chance to feed them pollen patties if the temps rise a little.
Tuesday September 19, Bees are out gathering food befor the hurricane weather comes up the coast of New England. We are hoping the rain & winds stay at bay around here.
We did some maintenance work in the hives today & Pulled a few frames. Slow going summer hopefully things will pick up before the cold weather is here!
Jun 5th 2017, we had a large swarm Yesterday on the fir tree next to the hives. Around 12:30 bees were noticed swarming around fir tree by 3:00pm all bees were gathered & relocated to the top bar hive I built over the winter break.
Been bizzy with spring clean-up but got a chance to install two more hives. This is to increase production to meet the demand of local honey.
It’s been very warm the last few days & the Bees have been out in search of Pollen. We also had a chance to build a Top-bar hive during the down-time that we plan to use for a split on a overpopulated hive this spring.
